Osasuna vs Sevilla Predictions
- Taking charge of Sevilla for a fourt time, Joaquin Caparros began with a 1-1 home adraw against Alaves on Sunday
- Osasuna have failed to win three of their last four home La Liga matches
- Sevilla have avoided defeat in five of their last seven away league trips
Sevilla hoping Caparros can stimulate survival bid
Sevilla will chase the victory that should ensure their safety against an Osasuna side that may have just clinched their place in La Liga with back-to-back wins when the two meet at El Sadar on Thursday.
Los Nervionenses halted a run of four consecutive defeats in a 1-1 home draw with Alaves on Sunday that marked the return of Joaquin Carparros as coach for a fourth spell. Sevilla missed three big chances and finished with an impressive 1.72 xG to the visitors’ 1.02.
Caparros was last in caretaker charge of the club for an 11-game spell in 2019, winning six of those games. The club’s hierarchy, who have appointed eight different coaches in the last three years, are probably hoping for that kind of impact again as they desperately seek survival.
Back Budimir to bag in probable draw
Although Osasuna have just recorded two wins against relegation-threatened Girona and Real Valladolid, this looks like being a tougher test for them. The Pamplona club haven’t managed to win three La Liga games in succession since 2021 and have only tasted victory at home to Sevilla once in the last eight meetings.
Osasuna have failed to win three of their last four home La Liga matches while Sevilla, despite their overall strugggles lately, have managed to avoid defeat in five of their last seven away league trips.
That suggests a draw or better could be possible for the visitors, who will be without suspended midfielder Nemanja Gudelj. Osasuna are only two points off eighth place and a spot in next season’s Conference League and will fight for every ball. Back Ante Budimir to get on the scoresheet too after his recent double against Real Valladolid took him to 18 goals for the campaign.
