Ajax Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Both sides made winning starts to the season in the last round, picking up victories home and away. Ajax are looking to take strides forward this season and they meet a Panathinaikos side that lost home and away to Braga in European qualifying last term before they lost four of their six Europa League group games.

Ajax 2-1

Reason for tip

Ajax should shade this but Panathinaikos have made a solid start to the campaign and they can get on the scoresheet. The Greek side beat Botev Plovdiv 2-1 in their last home game in Europe and Ajax could reverse that scoreline after a 3-1 victory on the road in their last game.

Panathinaikos vs Ajax Predictions

  • Both sides have won both of their games so far this season
  • Panathinaikos had a poor season in Europe last term, losing three of their last four at home
  • Ajax turned their season around after the turn of their year and their improvement can continue here

Ajax to shade away leg

After a nightmare 2023/24 campaign, Ajax are hoping to bounce back this term. They struggled early on, which saw them miss out on the Eredivisie’s three Champions League spots. They pushed themselves into fifth place, but winning just 15 of 34 domestic games isn’t good enough for the Dutch giants.

Ajax have made an encouraging start to the new campaign, winning home and away to Vojvodina. Panathinaikos also won both of their games in the last round, seeing off Bulgaria’s Botev Plovdiv.

There are some concerns for the hosts, who lost home and away to Braga in the final round of Champions League qualifying last term. They were beaten in four of their six Europa League games that followed, exiting bottom of their group.

Ajax didn’t have a stellar European season, but they improved after the turn of the year. They’re looking to prove they’ve taken steps forward since, so back them to down a Panathinaikos side that lost at home to both Rennes and Maccabi Haifa in Europe last term.
