Parma vs Atalanta Predictions
- Atalanta have won eight of their last nine games in all competitions, including their last four away games
- Parma have lost three of their last four home games but they have scored in five of six Serie A games at Stadio Ennio Tardini this term
- Ademola Lookman has scored six goals in his last nine Serie A appearances
Atalanta need to be taken seriously
Atalanta have the form and squad depth to overcome a dangerous Parma side when they return to Serie A duty this weekend. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side look capable of mounting a serious title challenge this season and one of the reasons for that is their improved away form.
La Dea have won each of their last four away games in all competitions and come into this off the back of a stunning 3-0 win at Napoli in their last Serie A road trip. With eight wins in their last nine matches and players set to return from injury, Atalanta are in a great place to mount a sustained challenge in what appears to be a wide-open Scudetto field.
Ademola Lookman, who has scored six goals in eight league starts this term, has been a key factor and he may be able to unlock the door of a Parma defence that has been steady.
Parma can push visitors all the way
Fabio Pecchia’s side have conceded no more than one goal in five of their last six games, but they take on one of the hottest strikeforces in Europe on Saturday.
Atalanta have scored 31 goals in the first 12 games this season and with one more goal will break their record of goals scored after 13 games of a Serie A season. They have also kept three away clean sheets in a row, but Parma are good enough to break that sequence.
In young attacker Ange-Yoan Bonny (4 goals and one assist this season), they have a potential threat to an Atalanta defence that was carved up by Udinese in their last game. Gasperini’s side were fortunate not to concede more than once in that game, although they raised their level enough to pick up the win when it mattered most.
