- Blackburn have drawn their last two games and three of their last seven away Championship matches.
- Jonson Clarke-Harris has scored six goals in his last six Championship appearances.
Clarke-Harris has form to worry good Championship teams
Peterborough’s fate is all but sealed, but at least one of their number is making a strong case to be playing his football in the Championship next season. Jonson Clarke-Harris is showing why Posh shelled out around £2million in total to bring him to Weston Homes Stadium with a string of impressive displays in the past couple of months.
The 27-year-old scored 31 times in League One en route to winning the EFL Player of the Year award in 2020-21 and now, after a period in which he was beset by niggling injuries, is showing he could be a 20-goal getter in the Championship too. Six goals in his last six appearances suggest he should be snapped up at odds of 7/4 in anytime goalscorer markets ahead of Good Friday’s clash with Blackburn Rovers.
Tony Mowbray’s team will arrive in Cambridgeshire on the back of some chequered form that shows just one win in their last seven league games. Rovers have slipped from second to seventh in the standings and know that anything other than three points here could condemn them to missing out on the playoffs in the final reckoning.
Rovers cannot afford to drop points against Posh
The Lancashire outfit, therefore, have to come with an attacking gameplan and that should be helped by the increased options open to Mowbray now leading scorer Ben Brereton-Diaz and playmaker Bradley Dack are getting close to full match sharpness. Blackburn tired last week when pegged back by Blackpool and it may be that physically they don’t quite have enough to get over the line in tight games.
Peterborough have demonstrated over the course of this season that they generally haven’t had enough talent to win games, but they do get goals. Over 2.5 goals has landed in four of the last five Posh home games with the hosts hitting multiple goals on two of those five occasions. Rovers have scored six and conceded five in their last four contests so ‘overs’ should have a good chance here.
Peterborough have drawn their last two games and three of their last six at home while Blackburn have drawn their last two games and three of their last seven away Championship matches, so we are looking to scoop some big odds with our correct score prediction of 2-2 this Easter.
