Posh backed for derby success

Peterborough have enjoyed success in three of their last four home games in League One and they are the best bet to win their derby against Northampton on Saturday.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, but Peterborough are four places above Northampton in 15th with the visitors 19th. The hosts have won 13 and lost 17 of their 39 games, while Northampton have ten wins and 17 defeats.

Peterborough United’s 4-3 win over Crawley Town was their third victory in four League One games. Peterborough, who were priced at 13/10 to win the game, justified their position as favourites and can do the same again.

The visitors have struggled defensively of late. Northampton have failed to keep a clean sheet in 13 of their last 15 League One games and have conceded 30 goals away from home this season – an average of 1.50 goals per game from 20 games.

A narrow 1-0 win for Peterborough looks the most likely outcome. Eight of their 13 League One victories this season have come by a single goal, and six of Northampton’s last seven league games have seen fewer than three goals.
