Poland vs Israel Predictions

Poland are out to continue their 100% record in Euro 2020 qualifying on Monday, as they meet Israel in Warsaw. The hosts have made easy work of their bid to qualify so far, as they’ve eased to victories in their opening three games. However, this clash brings them face to face with their nearest challengers, an unbeaten Israel side who are currently in second place. Can Israel claim a shock win to continue their qualification bid?

The hosts were a major disappointment at the World Cup, while they ended up being relegated from the Nations League after a string of poor displays. It’s easy to say that 2018 wasn’t a stellar year for Polish football, but they are heading towards the next big tournament in style, following victories over North Macedonia, Latvia and Austria. Poland were also comfortable in their bid to make it to Russia, so will they continue their winning streak in qualifying here?

Israel missed out on Nations League promotion and the Euro 2020 playoff spot that comes with it. That means they’re putting everything on a top two finish in this group, which they’re in with a chance of landing. Israel do have a few tricky opponents to watch out for, but they’ve made a strong start. They were able to hold Slovenia to a draw before landing a 4-2 win against Austria and a 3-0 victory over Lativa.

It’s going to be tough for Israel to land another win here, especially as they’re heading to a Poland side who have won their last nine home matches in qualifying campaigns. They’ve scored at least twice in their last eight home European Championship qualifiers, while they racked up 28 goals on their way to Russia at an average of 2.8 per game. That came with Robert Lewandowski topping the scoring charts, but he has a new rival this time around.

Eran Zehavi is the current top scorer in European qualifying, the Israeli striker has scored seven in three games, finding the opening goal in each of the group games so far. He’s helped Israel to a successful, high-scoring start. Given how Israel are playing along with Poland’s consistent home form, we can see a few goals in this clash. Poland to win with over 2.5 goals in the game is our tip here.
