Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Each of these teams have scored in 15 of their last 16 fixtures. For Port Vale, that translates to six successive outings on home soil seeing both teams net, while four of Crewe’s last half a dozen league games have seen both teams score.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Port Vale have conceded exactly once in four of their last six at home, including 1-1 draws with Wrexham and Colchester. Crewe have conceded exactly once in three of their last four, such as a 1-1 stalemate with Walsall.

Port Vale vs Crewe Predictions

  • Port Vale have scored in all bar one of their last 16 fixtures
  • Both teams have netted in four of Crewe’s last six league matches
  • Half a dozen Port Vale home games in a row have seen both teams score

Port Vale looking for bragging rights

Port Vale have invested heavily in Darren Moore as they look to secure promotion back to the third tier, and it has worked so far, given they sit top of the League Two table.

The Valiants could still do with tightening up at the back though, given they have seen both teams score six successive home matches.

Indeed, they have only kept four in clean sheets in their last dozen fixtures, but it is clear that going forward is a strength, as only Gillingham have stopped them from scoring in 16 outings since August.

Crewe can cause an upset

That will not bother visitors Crewe, who are looking to close the gap up top top spot on their bitter rivals.

The Gresty Road outfit have also scored in all bar one of their last 16 matches, half of which have seen both teams score.

Keeping a clean sheet seems harder for them in the league though – both teams have netted in four of their last six fixtures in the fourth tier.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, with 1-1 my correct score prediction.
