      Over 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Back over 2.5 goals when Portsmouth host Burnley. No team has had more games with over 2.5 goals than Portsmouth this season, and both sides have been scoring regularly.

      Portsmouth vs Burnley Predictions

Goals on the cards at Fratton Park

No team has had more games with over 2.5 goals than Portsmouth in the Championship this season, and Saturday’s clash with Burnley at Fratton Park is unlikely to be any different.

Burnley are third in the Championship, having won 15, drawn 12 and lost just twice this season. Portsmouth, who were promoted from League One last season, are 21st and have seven wins, eight draws and 14 defeats.

Portsmouth are finding life tough, having sustained two successive Championship reverses, and four of their last six matches have ended in defeat. However, they have enjoyed success in six of their last eight home games in the Championship.

Both teams have been finding the net regularly. Portsmouth have scored in three of their last four league games and have netted 22 goals in their 14 home games this season. Burnley, meanwhile, have scored 21 goals from their 15 away games in the Championship.

The Clarets have a tight defence but the way Pompey play could lead to a much more entertaining game than is usually the case – and certainly better than Monday’s tepid top-of-the-table clash with Leeds which finished 0-0.

Back Burnley to get the better of Portsmouth and a 3-2 score could be rewarded at huge odds. Pompey have scored at least twice in six of their last eight home games, while Burnley put five past Plymouth on their last away day.
