Pompey to claim crucial win

Portsmouth can be backed to win at home to QPR on Saturday. The visitors have lost their last two Championship away games and could find it tough at Fratton Park.

While QPR are five places and eight points above Portsmouth in the table, the hosts defied odds of 21/10 to win 2-0 away against Oxford last time out, securing a second consecutive Championship victory and restricting the hosts to just one shot on target.

QPR sit 13th with 11 wins, 11 draws and 11 defeats, while Portsmouth have nine wins, nine draws and 15 losses, but the hosts should get on the scoresheet here and go on to win, having scored in three consecutive games.

They have averaged 1.86 goals a game in their seven home games against other bottom-half sides this season.

QPR’s recent form in the Championship has been up and down, with three wins and three defeats in their last six games. They lost 1-0 to Coventry last week in their most recent away game.

Portsmouth to win 2-0 looks a decent correct-score bet. Three of Portsmouth’s nine wins in the Championship this season have been by a two-goal margin, and six of QPR’s 11 defeats have also come by two goals.
