Preston Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Preston have avoided defeat in 11 of their last 13 league games, including seven of their last eight at Deepdale. Meanwhile, Leeds have failed to win five of their last six Championship away games.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

The last four clashes of these clubs have been close affairs, decided by late goals or drawn 1-1. A 1-1 draw might be the most likely outcome this time too with both teams prone to darws in their respective home and away records.

Preston can pose Leeds problems again

Lifted by their midweek win at Cardiff, Preston will pose some problems for a Leeds side that has struggled to win away when the two clash at Deepdale on Saturday.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side won their first Championship game in 11 matches when beating the struggling Bluebirds 2-0 in South Wales. It was the Lilywhites’ first away win of the campaign, but they have been hard to beat in Lancashire.

Preston have lost only once in nine home games since their opening weekend defeat to Sheffield United and they have given Leeds trouble in the past with their robust style of play.

Farke’s side have been flummoxed by defensive teams

Daniel Farke’s team prefer their opponents to have a bit of a go and they have mastered the art of picking off teams that play that way. But when teams set their stall out to defend, Leeds have struggled and that might be the case this weekend.

The Whites travel to Preston with a record of one win, three draws and two defeats in their last six away games. It is not going to strike fear into the hearts of the home players, but their recent home record of no win in five is unlikely to do that either.

Backing the draw could be a good option given four of Preston’s last five home games have been stalemates, as have three of Leeds’ last six on the road. But because the home side snatched a late winner in both contests between these clubs last term, it may be better to take the shorter odds about Preston in the double chance market.
