PSG to Win and Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Atletico Madrid have ground to make up after defeats to Benfica and Lille and they cols struggle against the Ligue 1 champions, who have lost just once this season

PSG vs Atletico Madrid Predictions

  • PSG’s last five Champions League games have all finished with fewer than three goals
  • Under 2.5 goals was a winning bet in six of Atletico Madrid’s last seven away matches
  • PSG have lost just one of their 13 matches this season

Home form is a big positive for PSG

Both PSG and Atletico Madrid have made stuttering starts to the new-look Champions League and their places in the top eight of the league phase who will automatically make it through to the knockout stage are far from guaranteed.

However, more faith should perhaps be put in Luis Enrique’s Parisians to turn the corner after a strong start to the season as they defend their Ligue 1 title.

PSG have won six and drawn one of their seven matches at the Parc des Princes this term, and that’s bad news for Diego Simeone’s visitors, whose position looks more precarious.

Atletico may not be able to turn the tide

Atletico claimed an opening league-phase win when a last-minute goal helped them to a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig, but their 4-0 defeat at Benfica was a shocker and they were unable to bounce back when they lost 3-1 at home to another Ligue 1 outfit, Lille.

PSG’s only defeat this term came in a  2-0 loss at Arsenal and they should be able to perform better than they did in drawing 1-1 with PSV Eindhoven.

Their last five Champions League matches have proved to be tight affairs, so don’t expect many goals in any potential home victory, but a 2-0 success for the hosts could be of interest to those looking for a correct-score investment.
