Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Liverpool have seven wins from seven games in the Champions League and they can maintain their perfect record when they visit PSV on matchday eight. The Reds are flying in all competitions but they have not been impenetrable at the back and the value bet is an away win and both teams to score.

Liverpool 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in three of Liverpool’s last four games and they could be pushed close by hosts PSV, so a 2-1 win for the visitors could be the way to go in the correct score betting.

PSV vs Liverpool Predictions

  • Liverpool have won all seven of their matches in this season’s Champions League
  • Both teams have scored in three of Liverpool’s last four games
  • PSV’s Champions League games this term have produced 23 goals
  • Luis Diaz has scored three times in this term’s Champions League

Pacesetters Liverpool can maintain perfect record

As if setting the pace in the Premier League was not enough, Liverpool have also been the standout team in this season’s Champions League and they have already secured a spot in the last 16 with a game to spare.

The aim heading into their final league phase game will be guaranteeing top spot and a 100 per cent record in the league phase and Arne Slot’s men should do exactly that against PSV.

Although aided by a lack of injuries, the Reds have had a ruthless streak to them all season and they followed last Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Lille on matchday seven with a 4-1 drubbing of lowly Ipswich in the Premier League.

Slot has rotated his players well and they continue to play with aggression and intensity.

They have not taken their eye off the ball in this term’s Champions League, sweeping aside Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid among others, and they were labelled as the ‘best team in the world’ by Brentford boss Thomas Frank recently.

Finishing top of the standings would justify that label even more and they should be too strong for PSV, although an away win should be coupled with both teams to score.

Expect goals in Eindhoven

Liverpool have conceded just two goals in the competition this term by PSV are an attacking and enterprising side, scoring eight goals across their three home fixtures in the Champions League.

They were involved in a thrilling matchup against Red Star Belgrade on matchday seven of the Champions League, establishing a 3-0 lead after just 43 minutes.

But after losing goalscorer Ryan Flamingo to a red card in the 50th minute, the game got away from them and they just about held on to win 3-2 after two goals from the hosts.

Although the sending off played its part, that showed the two sides of PSV’s game and their game against Liverpool should not disappoint.

Diaz fancied to convert for travelling Reds

Finishing top will not feel as crucial as securing that last 16 spot in the first place and Slot may be tempted to switch things up a bit which could give PSV an opportunity but the Reds can still get over the line in a potentially high-scoring fixture.

A 2-1 win for Liverpool is a solid correct score prediction, while Luis Diaz, who could again lead the Liverpool line, has scored three times in this season’s competition and could add to his tally in Eindhoven.
