RB Leipzig vs Crvena Zvezda Predictions
- Leipzig ended a three-game winless run by seeing off Darmstadt 3-1 at the weekend.
- Red Star have lost eight of their last 10 away UCL games, including qualifiers.
- Red Star have scored in all 13 of their games this season.
Leipzig looking cement second spot
Leipzig entertain Serbian’s Crvena Zvezda, aka Red Star Belgrade, on Wednesday knowing a victory would put them firmly in the driving seat in terms of reaching the next round of the Champions League.
The German outfit have three points from two games so far, and a win would potentially see them move five points clear of both Red Star and Young Boys – as the Swiss outfit play holders Manchester City on Wednesday.
Back Leipzig to win and concede
Red Star have struggled on the road in this competition in recent seasons as they have lost eight of their last 10 Champions league away games, including qualifiers.
Leipzig emerged from a three-game winless run, albeit a run that included games against City (L) and Bayern Munich (D), by winning 3-1 at Darmstadt at the weekend and they should be able to overcome Red Star here.
However, the visitors have scored in all 13 of their games across all competitions this season, with three goals in two group games, and as Leipzig have conceded in four of their last five games a home win with both teams to score appeals.
Leipzig are capable of scoring heavily on occasion but three goals has been their stopping point over the last few weeks and they have scored exactly three goals in five of their last six victories, so a 3-1 win for the hosts is the correct score prediction.
Lois Openda has made a great start to his Leipzig career with six goals in eight Bundesliga games and one in two Champions League appearances since his arrival from Lens over the summer, so the Belgian striker looks a good contender for an anytime goal.
