      Reason for tip

Real Betis have been in fine form, winning seven of their last ten, and scoring two in five of their last seven matches. They should be able to comfortably beat weaker opposition in style here.

      odds when tipped

      Real Betis 3-1

      Reason for tip

A key part of  Jagiellonia’s success has been their striker Afimico Pululu, who is the top scorer of the competition. He’s capable of getting a goal for him although it’ll unlikely be enough to get a result against Betis who are capable of scoring three here.

      • Jagiellonia’s Afimico Pululu is the top scorer in the competition with eight goals

      Polish hopefuls meet Spanish heat

Real Betis face Polish side Jagiellonia in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League quarter-finals. Betis cruised through the previous round, beating Guimarães 6-2 on aggregate, while Jagiellonia held on for a 3-2 win over two legs—having won the first leg 3-0, they were able to rely on their defence to see them through.

Real Betis will go off as strong favourites here, not only because they come from a stronger league, but also because they are one of the most in-form sides in Europe. Their 1-1 draw against Barcelona at the weekend was the first time they’ve dropped points since a 3-2 defeat to Celta Vigo on 8th February. At home, they’ve scored at least two goals in five of their last seven matches. It would have been six out of seven had Isco converted a penalty in their 1-0 win over Las Palmas. The only exception was the second leg against Gent in an earlier round, though Betis had already won the first leg 3-0.

A dominant performance should be expected here, with Betis likely looking to all but seal the tie in the first leg. Expect a fast start from them and for this to end with a Betis win and over 2.5 goals in the match.

Jagiellonia’s impressive run in this competition will likely come to an end over the two legs, but they should still put up a good fight. Betis’s defensive record has been average, and the Polish side could grab at least one goal to take something positive back home. Their striker, Afimico Pululu, is the top scorer in this competition with eight goals—two more than anyone else. His prolific finishing has been vital to their success, and he’ll be hoping to get on the scoresheet again. However, it’s likely to be a consolation at best, and we’re predicting a 3-1 win for Betis.
