Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Fewer than three goals have been scored in Sevilla’s last four league games while Real Betis have scored no more than one goal in six of their last 11 home league matches. Also, Under 2.5 goals has landed in the last five La Liga derbies between these clubs.

Real Betis 1-0

Reason for tip

Real Betis have won their last five La Liga matches and kept clean sheets in two of their last three at home. They can secure a 1-0 home win against a Sevilla side struggling for goals and coming off a 1-0 home defeat to Athletic Bilbao.

Alarcon Isco To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

In-form midfielder Isco has struck six times in his last six appearances for Betis. He takes penalties and free-kicks, which could be a crucial factor in this derby.

Real Betis are bang in form

Real Betis hold the upper hand ahead of the upcoming derby against Sevilla, but both teams could cancel each other out and damage their respective European bids on Sunday. A draw in this game will do neither side any favours as Betis chase Champions League football and Sevilla harbour hopes of a return to the Europa League.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side will be looking to avenge October’s 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture and they will arrive in better form after recording five consecutive La Liga wins. The international break came at a bad time for the Verdiblancos, who were on a roll in the Conference League too.

Betis beat Real Madrid 2-1 at home earlier this month to underline their top-5 credentials, having beaten Real Sociedad 3-0 at home and given Athletic Bilbao a tough time in a 2-2 draw at Estadio Benito Villamarin.

In-form Isco can get a goal

Sevilla’s four-match unbeaten run was ended by Athletic Bilbao prior to the international break and, although they have strung a few results together recently, Garcia Pimenta’s side still do not score enough goals. The Rojiblancos have scored multiple times in only one of their last eight games – against relegation-threatened Real Valladolid – and look unlikely to trouble the Betis defence on Sunday.

Pellegrini’s side have more of a cutting edge because they do not rely on one player to get their goals. However, the Chilean coach is pragmatic enough to shut up shop in this one if they take the lead.

Backing under 2.5 goals in the game tallies with recent history of the fixture, which has not seen a third goal in the last five meetings, and the dismal recent output of the visitors. Isco looks the most likely goalscorer option because the in-form midfielder has struck six times in his last six appearances for Betis.
