Borussia Dortmund Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Real Madrid slipped up in defeat to Lille on matchday two of the Champions League and they could again be worth taking on against Borussia Dortmund, who top the table after two matchdays. These sides met in last season’s final and Dortmund will be after revenge.

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund Predictions

  • Borussia Dortmund have won three of their last four games
  • Borussia Dortmund have won their opening two Champions League contests by an aggregate scoreline of 10-1
  • Both teams have scored in five of Real Madrid’s last seven matches

Dortmund can get revenge on Los Blancos

Borussia Dortmund excelled in Europe but struggled domestically last season and that has again been the case this campaign as they prepare for a repeat of last term’s Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Dortmund lost 2-0 to Los Blancos in June’s Wembley final but have made a strong start to the new-look competition, thrashing Club Brugge 3-0 before dismantling Celtic 7-1 to establish themselves as early leaders in the 36-team standings.

The step-up in quality will be noticeable when they travel to the Santiago Bernabeu to face Real Madrid on Tuesday but Dortmund could have enough in them to salvage a draw.

Die Schwarzgelben have won three of their last four games in all competitions and can take confidence from the fact Madrid lost to Lille on matchday two.

A Jonathan David penalty was the difference between the sides when Madrid visited the Stade Pierre-Mauroy and they could again be vulnerable given Dortmund’s ruthless attacking approach.

Dortmund are worth a bet in the double chance market, while in the correct score betting, a 1-1 draw stands out as the best pick.
