Real Madrid to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Real Madrid have won four of their last five games with at least three goals in each. They are unbeaten at home since November with 10 wins and two draws since that last Bernabeu reverse. Real Sociedad, meanwhile, have lost three of their last four away games with over 2.5 goals in all four.

Real Madrid 3-1

Reason for tip

Los Blancos have scored two or three goals in their last five home games while Real Sociedad have shipped an average of 3.33 goals per game across their last four away trips. They have scored in five of their last seven on the road, while Los Blancos usually concede at home so a 3-1 scoreline could be on the cards.

Federico Valverde To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Federico Valverde has scored in two of his last three Copa del Rey appearances. He was rested on Saturday and could exploit any space in midfield once this second leg opens up.

Beating Los Blancos looks a big ask for La Real

Real Sociedad must overturn a one-goal deficit at Estadio Bernabeu on Tuesday as the Basque side attempt to halt Real Madrid’s bid to win every piece of silverware going this season.

It looks like a near impossible task for Imanol Alguacil’s side, who laboured to a 2-1 home win over relegation-threatened Real Valladolid on Saturday, to pull off because Carl Ancelotti’s team have not lost at home since November.

La Real have lost three of their last four away games, including a 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford to a Manchester United side who had not scored as many goals since December. Imanol’s men struggle to play at a higher tempo against the better teams as their results against La Liga’s top four (won one, draw one, lost three) indicate.

Valverde among rested quartet to return

Los Blancos were not at their best in a 3-2 league win over Leganes at the weekend, but they got it done late on to move level on points with leaders Barcelona in the standings. Ancelotti began with Vincius Junior, Aurelien Tchouameni, Rodrygo and Fede Valverde on the bench, so that quartet can probably expect to start on Tuesday.

Valverde, with two goals in three cup appearances this term, looks a good candidate to get a goal in what could be quite an open affair once the first goal hits the back of the net. There is no point in the visitors keeping it tight as their season rides on a positive result.

Back Real Madrid to win with at least three goals in the game, which has generally been the way their recent matches – barring the tense Champions League return leg at Atletico, have been playing out.
