La Real to get the better of Espanyol

Real Sociedad should be backed to beat Espanyol on Sunday, with the visitors having lost eight times in their last ten away games in the Primera Liga.

Real Sociedad are 11th in the table, six places and five points above Espanyol, who are 17th. Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won, with Real Sociedad having ten defeats from their 22 games and Espanyol 11.

Real Sociedad have gone unbeaten in eight of the last nine times they have hosted Espanyol in the league, and the visitors are without a win in any of their ten away games this season.

Espanyol beat Real Madrid 1-0 last Saturday to bring their hosts’ six-game unbeaten run to an end and end a four-game winning run for the visitors but they might be brought back down to earth at Sociedad.

A 1-0 success for the hosts appeals as the correct score. Espanyol have lost 1-0 on two of their last three away games and Real Sociedad have won five of the last six league meetings with Espanyol by a single goal.
