Sociedad can shade close game

Goals may prove hard to come by when Real Sociedad host Sevilla on Sunday and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet. Four of the last six of the visitors’ games in the Primera Liga have gone under 2.5 goals.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, but Real Sociedad are three places above Sevilla in the table. The hosts have ten wins and twelve defeats, while the visitors have eight wins and nine losses.

Real Sociedad have won their last two home league games but were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday and Sevilla are finding it hard to put opponents away, having won just one of their last six matches.

Sevilla’s 1-1 draw away to Rayo Vallecano was their fourth Primera Liga game in six with under 2.5 goals. This was a good point for Sevilla, who were 11/5 to win the game.

Real Sociedad have been winners in five of their last seven home league games and have won four of those matches 1-0. With 21 of their 26 outings this season seeing at least one side failing to score, a narrow victory for the hosts looks the likely outcome.
