      Roma vs Bodo Glimt Predictions

      • Roma are unbeaten in their last eight home games in all competitions, winning five.
      • The Giallorossi have seen under 3.5 goals scored in each of their last nine games, during which their only loss came in the first leg with Bodo/Glimt.
      • The visitors, meanwhile, have seen under 3.5 goals scored in four of their last six games, and in five of their last seven European games.

Can Roma break Bodo/Glimt hoodoo to reach final four?

With Roma appearing certain to finish in fifth place in Serie A, Jose Mourinho’s hopes of a successful season hinge, to an extent, on making the maiden Europa Conference League the first trophy to enter the Giallorossi cabinet since 2008. Facing a 2-1 first-leg deficit, the capital club must do something they’ve not done all season to progress; namely, beat Bodo/Glimt.

The Norwegian champions have won two and drawn one of their three Europa Conference League clashes with Roma this season, earning a 2-2 draw on their previous visit to Rome (albeit facing 20 shots to their six against a weakened team). Bodo’s last loss, in any competition, came to FC Prishtina in the Champions League qualifiers last August, but can the visitors keep their cool in what is sure to be a spiky contest in the eternal city?

Indeed, allegations of assault against Roma goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos, made by Bodo boss Kjetil Knutsen, means both men are suspended for the second leg. Mourinho’s teams often tend to thrive in encounters with a bit of history behind them, and Roma are unbeaten in their last nine matches at the Stadio Olimpico, winning five and conceding just five goals in that run.

Hosts can secure tense win – but will it be enough?

Despite their past woes against the Norwegian outfit, Roma must be considered the favourites to reach the semi-finals, with their tally of 53 league goals from 54.8 expected goals (the latter being the highest tally in Serie A) demonstrating they have the firepower to come back into the tie.

Roma have also shown a solid streak recently, seeing their last nine games contain a maximum of three goals. With Bodo also seeing under 3.5 goals scored in five of their last seven European games, we’re backing a home win and under 3.5 goals as a means of keeping multiple scorelines in play.

Meanwhile, a 2-1 home win could be worth a correct score punt, and would be enough to force extra-time, where the Giallorossi would surely be favourites to make their superiority count.
