Roma to Win

Reason for tip

Roma have taken more points than any other side across the previous eight rounds in Serie A, while they’ve won nine of their last 10 at home. The Giallorossi are unbeaten in 10 league games and they’ve been producing dominant performances of late. Como have picked up a couple of good wins of late, but only three Serie A sides have picked up fewer away points so far.

Roma 2-1

Reason for tip

Como’s improved recent form suggests they can score against a Roma defence who tend to be solid at home. Ranieri’s men have scored 2.15 goals per game at home, conceding 0.92 in return.

Roma vs Como Predictions

  • Roma have won nine of their last 10 home matches in all competitions
  • The Giallorossi have taken the most points in Serie A across the previous eight rounds
  • Como have lost five of eight visits to the top 10
  • The visitors have the fourth-worst away record in Serie A

Ranieri can snap Como run

Como are heading to Rome on a high, following a 2-0 victory at Fiorentina and a 2-1 win over Napoli in their previous two games. Cesc Fabregas and his men were also the last team to beat Roma in Serie A, but the fact that the Giallorossi are unbeaten in 10 following that defeat in December shows just how the hosts’ form has turned.

Claudio Ranieri has brought some hope back to his boyhood club following a turbulent start to the season. His side are a looming threat in the Europa League, while they’ve taken 20 points from their previous eight Serie A games – three points more than any other side.

While Como have plenty of financial muscle behind them, they remain a work in progress and there was a hint of fortune to their recent big wins. Fabregas saw his side record 0.8 and 0.7 xG in each of those recent victories, which is in stark contrast to this dominant Roma side.

Ranieri’s men have won four of their previous five in all competitions and they’ve been clearly the stronger side in each victory according to underlying numbers. In their three-game winning run against Parma, Porto and Monza, Roma have restricted their opponents to 15 total shots, just four on target and a combined xG of 1.1.

In return, Roma had 58 efforts at goal, with at least four on target per game.

The hosts have won nine of their previous 10 at home across all competitions, while visitors Como have the fourth-worst away record in the division. They’ve lost five of eight visits to the top 10, so an impressive Roma side are great value for the points.
