Roma to Win

Reason for tip

Porto have won just two of their last ten games in all competitions and face a Roma side who have won 13 of their last 16 Europa League games at home, the hosts should come out on top at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma 2-1

Reason for tip

Roma beat Porto 2-1 when these two met at the Stadio Olimpico back in 2019 and a repeat of that scoreline is the pick again here, with the Wolves fancied to edge a close affair.

Roma vs FC Porto Predictions

  • Roma have won seven of their last eight home games
  • Porto have two wins in their last ten outings
  • Roma were 2-1 winners the last time these two met at the Stadio Olimpico

Roma fancied to progress

Roma drew 1-1 in controversial circumstances away to Porto in the first leg of their Europa League playoff clash but the Wolves should be able to secure progress with a victory in the second leg at home.

Claudio Ranieri fumed at the referee’s performance in the first game, which saw Roma receive six yellow cards on one red, meaning that midfielder Bryan Crisante will miss out on this second match.

However the hosts have been rock solid at the Stadio Olimpico recently and are fancied to pick up the win to see them through to the last 16.

Roma have won seven of their last eight home games and face a Porto side who have been struggling recently.

The Portuguese giants have only won two of their last 10 games in all competitions and laboured over a 1-0 win over Farenese at the weekend.

That performance level simply won’t cut it against a team of Roma’s quality and with the home side out of contention in Serie A and knocked out of the cup, they will throw everything at this match and are taken to win.

Roma were 2-1 winners when they hosted Porto back in 2019 and a repeat of that scoreline is possible.
