Roma vs Fiorentina Predictions

Roma and Fiorentina both come into this game in fine form, so something has to give at the Stadio Olimpico. Roma have won six league games in a row, while Fiorentina are unbeaten in their last seven league fixtures. Since the arrival of Luciano Spalletti for his latest spell in charge of Roma, the side’s results have been excellent and they retain a slight chance of catching Juventus at the top of the table. Securing a place in the top three – and therefore automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League – is the main priority. In Miralem Pjanic, Roma boast one of Europe’s deadliest set piece specialists.

Fiorentina are having a fantastic season, with their 1-1 home draw with Napoli on Monday a sign they can compete against the best. Paulo Sousa has built a thrilling attacking unit and a defence that is ruggedly solid, but Roma will test them at both ends of the pitch. Nikola Kalinic and Josip Ilicic have both reached double figures in goals this season, a marker no Roma player has yet managed, although Pjanic and Mohammed Salah both have nine goals. In theory this could and should be a very exciting high-scoring game, although Serie A games between the top teams often end up with the sides cancelling each other out.

Each of Roma’s last four matches has seen over 2.5 goals come in and the sheer array of attacking talent on show in the capital on Friday should ensure it comes in again. We are therefore tipping over 2.5 goals at 9/10 with bet365 and, while a draw is a decent possibility due to the good form of these sides, we’re also backing Roma to maintain their winning streak with a 2-1 victory at 15/2 with bet365.
