Roma vs Napoli Predictions
Napoli could be 12 points adrift of Juventus by the time they kick off at Roma on Monday afternoon, meaning that if Juve win at Fiorentina the title will be theirs if Napoli then drop points at the Stadio Olimpico. Two defeats in their last four matches have seen Maurizio Sarri’s side slip away from the top and they are now just five points clear of Roma and face a fight to hold on to second spot. A 6-0 midweek victory over Bologna was a statement of intent, but it looks like too little too late as Juve close in on a fifth successive Scudetto.
Francesco Totti has been the hero for Roma two games in a row, scoring three goals to rescue three points for his side. The 39-year-old forward might be looking set to leave the club at the end of the season – and was the subject of a reported bust-up with Luciano Spalletti recently – but he continues to come up trumps in the big moments for his side. If Totti can lead his side to a Champions League place it would be a fitting end to a glorious career and Roma have a seven-point lead from Inter with just four games to play.
Napoli have lost their last two away games – to Udinese and Inter – but are boosted by the return from suspension of their star striker Gonzalo Higuain, who is the top goalscorer in Serie A. Roma are 10 games unbeaten at home so it is very tempting to side with Spalletti’s side for this game and that’s what we’re going to do, with the boost from their dramatic 3-2 win over Torino in midweek able to push them on to another victory.
Roma to Win at 6/4 with Betfair is our tip for this Serie A blockbuster clash, while Roma to Win 2-1 at 17/2 with Betfair appeals from the correct score market too.
