Roma to Win and Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Roma are on a 16-match unbeaten run in Serie A, but their recent games have been tight affairs, with each of their last five featuring a maximum of two goals.  Under 2.5 goals has also been a winning bet in seven of Verona’s previous eight fixtures.

      Roma 1-0

      Reason for tip

Roma’s last three victories have all been by a 1-0 scoreline and all came against sides that, like Verona, are in the bottom half of the Serie A standings. With both these teams having been involved in low-scoring games of late, one goal may be enough to decide this fixture for the hosts.

      Roma vs Verona Predictions

      • Roma are unbeaten in their last 16 Serie A matches
      • Eight of Roma’s last 10 league fixtures have gone under the 2.5-goal mark
      • A maximum of two goals have been scored in seven of Verona’s last eight games

Cracks starting to show in Roma’s form

Roma are on the longest unbeaten run in Serie A, as they have not lost any of their last 16 matches in the competition, although there have been one or two signs their relentless form is starting to slow down.

Back-to-back draws with Juventus and city rivals Lazio came off the back of a trio of 1-0 wins over Empoli, Cagliari and Lecce – all sides that currently sit in the bottom six of the division.

Verona are seventh bottom and unbeaten in four – although three of those have been draws – so they can test Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, but their record when visiting the Giallorossi leaves a lot to be desired – they have not beaten Roma in the capital since 1973.

Goals may be at a premium

Even if one or two cracks are starting to show in Roma’s form, they should have enough to edge past Verona, although it may be a low-scoring contest.

Eight of Roma’s last 10 league matches have gone under the 2.5-goal mark, including each of the previous five, while seven of Verona’s last eight games have also featured a maximum of two goals.

Roma’s last three wins have all been by a 1-0 scoreline and one goal may be all that is required to land them the three points on Saturday.
