      Romania vs Ukraine Predictions

This game which will take place in Turin is unlikely to attract a large crowd and could have a low-key feel to it with both teams experimenting ahead of the serious business which starts in a fortnight. Both teams will be hopeful of at least making it out of their groups at Euro 2016 but neither will be expected to go much further than that.

That said Romania are on an incredible unbeaten run which stands at 18 games and stretches back two years to a friendly defeat against Algeria in June 2014. Half of those games have been draws though so they’ve not exactly been setting the world on fire but they do look to be a well organised unit that could make life difficult for their opponents this summer. They held Spain to a 0-0 draw in March but could only draw 1-1 in a friendly against DR Congo last week.

This is the first of two warm-up games for Ukraine who also face Albania on Friday. They qualified for Euro 2016 via a play-off against Slovenia having finished 3rd in their group behind Slovakia and Spain. They won both their March friendlies by 1-0 margins against Wales and Cyprus and will be hoping to carry some of that momentum on here.

This is likely to be a tight game with little really to choose between the sides but certainly a goalfest looks highly unlikely. Both teams have scored in only 1 of Ukraine’s last 7 matches which have yielded a total of just 9 goals. Both teams in netted just five times in Romania’s 18 match unbeaten run which has very much been built on defence. Therefore surely backing Both Teams to Score – NO at 8/11 offers the best value here.
