Red Bull Salzburg and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Salzburg were 2-0 winners in last week’s first leg and have six victories and a draw from seven competitive fixtures this season, but they do tend to concede in Champions League home matches, as they have kept just one clean-sheet in their last eight such games at Stadion Salzburg.

Red Bull Salzburg 3-1

Reason for tip

Salzburg can replicate last week’s margin of victory, but given their lack of clean-sheets on home soil and the fact Dynamo Kiev have scored in four of their last five Champions League away games, 3-1 is the preferred full-time result this time around.

Dynamo Kiev vs Red Bull Salzburg Predictions

  • Salzburg have six wins and a draw from seven competitive fixtures this season
  • The Austrian outfit have kept just one clean-sheet in their last eight Champions League home games
  • Dynamo Kiev have scored in four of their last five away matches in the Champions League

Salzburg to hammer home advantage

Salzburg will take a 2-0 lead into the second leg of this tie and their form at the start of this season suggests they can hammer home that advantage, as they have registered six wins and a draw from seven matches to date this term.

Pepijn Lijnders’ side have also lost just once on home soil in a competitive match this calendar year and were 2-1 winners over Twente in the previous round of Champions League qualifying at Stadion Salzburg.

Dynamo Kiev have also started the season well, seeing off Partizan and Rangers to reach this stage of qualifying, but they were outclassed by Salzburg during last week’ first leg and may come unstuck again.

Ukrainians can get on the scoresheet

While Dynamo may be staring down the barrel of Champions League elimination, they can get on the scoresheet in Austria, as they have netted in four of their last five away matches in Europe’s premier club competition, putting two past Rangers and three on Partizan in this season’s competition.

Salzburg are certainly not watertight at the back, particularly in the Champions League, as they have kept just one clean-sheet across their last eight home games in the competition.

The hosts have also conceded in both their home matches this season, but still won 2-1 and 5-1. A similar outcome is expected on Tuesday and Salzburg can repeat the two-goal margin of victory they achieved in the first leg by triumphing 3-1.
