San Marino vs England Predictions
- San Marino have conceded 36 goals across their nine defeats in this group
- The hosts were thumped 7-1 by Poland at home in September
- England have recorded four wins by at least four clear goals across their last six outings
Three Lions on the brink
After a 5-0 win over Albania, England are all but booked on the plane for Qatar 2020. The Three Lions need a single point to secure their spot in the next round, with Gareth Southgate’s men priced at 1/500 to either win or draw against the weakest side in the group.
Southgate couldn’t have asked for an easier clash for his side to wrap things up, considering that San Marino have lost nine from nine in this group, posting a goal difference of -35. it’s safe to say that Southgate will have a third crack at delivering a major trophy in a years’ time.
England to put on a show
The Three Lions have won seven of nine matches in qualifying and they’ve scored 29 goals along the way. Overall, they’re about to wrap up an impressive 2021 with their final game of the year, having made a major final and winning 13 out of 17 fixtures.
They also have posted a brilliant response to their loss to Italy, having claimed two 5-0 wins and two 4-0 wins since September. Southgate’s men aren’t giving anything away against the weaker sides in this group, so expect San Marino to be no match in this clash.
The hosts have lost their last 12 games since a 5-0 defeat at Wembley and in their last seven matches they’ve lost by four or more on four occasions, including a 7-1 hammering by Poland at home. We see them being outclassed by an England side full of attacking threat with Harry Kane looking back to his best. England -5 and a 6-0 victory are my predictions for this clash.
