Senegal vs Zambia Predictions

  • Senegal have not lost on home soil since 2013.
  • Senegal have won four of their last five games and kept clean sheets in all four.

Senegal stars should shine against Zambia

Senegal are using their summer friendlies to build-up to the start of the World Cup qualifiers in August and have almost all of their big names available for the visit of Zambia.

Coach Aliou Cisse has a wealth of talent to work with after calling up Sadio Mane, Edouard Mendy, Cheikhou Kouyate, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Ismaila Sarr and Krepin Diatta – all to be led by skipper Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Lions of Teranga are still smarting from their defeat in the final of the last AFCON but can boast one of the best home records in international football, having not lost on home soil for eight years.

Chipolopolo Boys coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has taken a contrasting approach to his side’s three-game summer tour and given his three biggest stars a rest.

Patson Daka, Fashion Sakala and Enock Mwepu haven’t been called with the absence of Red Bull Salzburg’s red-hot striker sure to be a big miss.

This should be an easy win for the hosts with the scoreline solely dependent on how much of an impression the Senegal players want to make – although the state of the pitch could also play a part.

Taking Senegal to win to nil appears to be the best way in and, as they haven’t scored more than two in a home friendly for several years, the 2-0 correct score play looks prudent.
