Expect another cagey affair

There may not be many goals when Sevilla host Alaves in the Primera Liga on Sunday at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet. Nine of Alaves’ last 11 league games have stayed under 2.5 goals and their last three matches have all gone under.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, but Sevilla are three places above Alaves in the table with a six-point advantage. The hosts, who have won nine and lost 13 of their 31 games, sit 14th, while Alaves are 17th with seven wins and 15 defeats.

However, Sevilla are struggling, having lost their last four Primera Liga matches. Alaves have won their last three clashes with these opponents and have gone unbeaten in seven of their last eight away games.

Alaves lost 1-0 to ten-man Real Madrid last weekend, keeping up their run of matches with under 2.5 goals. The result was no surprise, with Real Madrid priced at 8/13 to win the game, and Alaves had their chances but failed to make the most of them.

A 1-0 away win for Alaves looks a decent correct-score bet. Sevilla have lost four Primera Liga games on the spin by a single goal and three of Alaves’ seven wins this season have come via a 1-0 scoreline.
