Athletic to strengthen grip on fourth

Athletic Bilbao will be buzzing after overcoming Roma to qualify for the Europa League quarter-finals, but they can’t put all of their Champions League qualification hopes on winning that competition and can quickly regain domestic focus to get a win away to Sevilla on Sunday.

Athletic are fourth in the league, six places and 13 points above Sevilla, with 13 wins, ten draws and four losses from their 27 games this season. Sevilla have won nine, drawn nine and lost nine so far.

Draws have been holding Athletic back slightly – they have shared the spoils in four of their last seven league games – but a 1-0 loss at Atletico Madrid is their only defeat in the last 18.

Sevilla’s defence has been far from solid, with the hosts conceding in six of their last eight home games in the league and going four matches without keeping a clean sheet.

A 1-0 win for Athletic Bilbao looks the best correct-score bet, with three of their last four league games producing under 2.5 goals.
