Blades can complete play-off prep with a win

Sheffield United have been strong at home this season and they are the best bet to win when they host Blackburn on Saturday. Chris Wilder’s side have won 15 of their 22 home games in the Championship, while Valerien Ismael’s team have just seven away wins.

They are third in the Championship, five places and 24 points above eighth-placed Blackburn, with 28 wins from their 45 games this season.

United have nothing to play for and are assured of a play-off spot, whereas Blackburn have an outside chance of a top-six berth but that is reflected in the prices.

The hosts have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 16 goals in 22 Championship games – an average of 0.73 goals per game.

Sheffield United are the most profitable team in the Championship this season. Backing them as favourites would have resulted in a 17.38-unit profit, with 26 wins from 36 such games.

The visitors have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, with just 18 goals in 22 games – an average of 0.82 goals a game.

They have looked vulnerable in defence. Blackburn have failed to keep a clean sheet in ten of their last 12 Championship games.

A close game is likely, but Sheffield United may just edge it. They have won 15 of their Championship games this season by the odd goal and a 2-1 home win is the correct-score pick, with 12 of Blackburn’s 18 defeats coming by the same margin.
