      Sheffield United to Win

      Reason for tip

Sheffield United have won nine of their last 11 Championship games to remain firmly in the automatic promotion race and they have developed an ability to grind out results, which should come in handy when hard-to-beat Bristol City visit Bramall Lane.

      Sheffield United 2-1

      Reason for tip

Six of Sheffield United’s last seven league wins have been by a one-goal margin, including three 2-1 successes, while that was also the scoreline when they beat Bristol City in November’s reverse meeting between the two sides.

Sheffield United vs Bristol City Predictions

      • Sheffield United have won nine of their last 11 Championship games
      • Only league leaders Leeds have collected more home points than Sheffield United
      • Bristol City have failed to win any of their last six meetings with the Blades

Blades can edge tough Robins test

Sheffield United are showing no signs of slowing down in the race for automatic promotion, winning nine of their last 11 Championship games, and they could add another three points when play-off hopefuls Bristol City head to Bramall Lane.

Only league leaders Leeds have collected more home points than Chris Wilder’s side this season, with the Blades winning 13 of their 18 games on their own patch.

While performances may not have been at their best over recent weeks, the Blades have, more often than not, still been grinding out results and they can edge past Bristol City this midweek.

      Visitors set for rare defeat

Bristol City have emerged as realistic play-off contenders following a five-match unbeaten run, while they have only lost two of their last 14 Championship games.

Liam Manning’s side have certainly been hard to beat, but this will be the first time they have visited one of the top three, Leeds, Sheffield United or Burnley, this season.

The Robins have failed to win any of their last six meetings with Sheffield United, losing five of those, including a 2-1 defeat in November’s reverse clash at Ashton Gate and a repeat of that scoreline could be on the cards.
