Sheffield Wednesday vs Luton Predictions

Owls can heap misery on struggling Hatters

Sheffield Wednesday should be backed to get a home win over Luton on Saturday, with the visitors out of form.

Wednesday are tenth in the Championship, with 11 wins, eight draws and ten defeats from their 29 games this season. Luton, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are 23rd with seven wins, five draws and 17 losses.

Luton are struggling. They lost 1-0 to Millwall on Saturday, in what was Millwall’s first win in six games, and they were beaten 3-2 by Oxford last week in their last Championship away game.

Wednesday have scored at least twice in 15 of their 29 league games this season, while Luton have struggled to find the net away from home, with just 11 goals in 14 matches – an average of 0.8 goals a game.

Luton have been disappointing defensively away from home this season, conceding 31 goals in 14 road games – an average of 2.2 goals per game. They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in 16 of their last 19 Championship games.

Neither side is in great form, but Wednesday have the edge in terms of recent results having won 2-0 at QPR last week.

A 3-1 home win for Sheffield Wednesday is an attractive correct-score bet, with six of their 11 Championship successes this season coming by two goals and Luton showing no signs of life despite replacing Rob Edwards with Matt Bloomfield in the dugout.
