Sivasspor finished last season one position above the drop zone, but this season it doesn’t look like they will be so lucky. They haven’t learned from their lessons and find themselves three points from safety coming into the final league game of the season. Thankfully their goal difference is superior to Gaziantepspor above them, but they still need a victory against Fenerbahce to stand any chance of staying up.

They have improved as their battle against relegation has intensified in seriousness. They come into this match unbeaten in four matches and with just one defeat in their last six. Unfortunately for Sivasspor only two of these six games have resulted in victory.

Fenerbahce managed a win against Genclerbigli on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough for them. Besiktas’ victory kept the runners up at arms length, and with only three points left to play for Fenerbahce are six points adrift of the newly recrowned Turkish Super Lig Champions.

The visitors already have 2nd place wrapped up, so now their attentions will turn to a Turkish Cup final against arch rivals Galatasaray next Wednesday. This could see them play a weakened squad on Thursday, which will be music to Sivasspor’s ears.

Fenerbahce’s recent form has been rather good to be honest, and they can blame a blip back in March for their failed title challenge. They have won six of their last seven and lost one.

Sivasspor have been improving at this high pressures time, and at home they have managed to win three of their last seven and have only lost twice. Fenerbahce have won just two of their last seven away from home in the Super Lig, and in all competitions they have failed to win nine of their last 12 away days.
