      Slovakia vs Ukraine Predictions

There’s no time to dwell on defeat during a Euro 2016 qualifying campaign and Slovakia don’t have much time to overcome a disappointing performance in Spain as they prepare for a clash against Group C’s other significant club Ukraine on Tuesday night.

They didn’t see much of the football on Saturday as Spain put together a masterclass eventually running out 2-0 winners (and they could have won by several more). There’s no shame in losing to Spain though and the Slovakians have shown through qualifying so far that they have an organised and well-planned approach that can work.

Ukraine lost their Group C opener 1-0 at home against Slovakia. The goal was scored by Slovakia’s only shot on target and Ukraine dominated possession as well. Still, playing away from home gives Slovakia even more license to play that game and the Ukrainians will need to find a way to replicate their recent goal-scoring form from games against the likes of Luxembourg and Belarus.

Ukraine’s qualifying campaign depends upon how they perform against Group C’s best. They play Slovakia and Spain in two of their last three games. They won’t want to “need” points from that qualification closing contest against the defending European champions.

      Three Reasons for Betting Tips

      1. Slovakia’s approach will catch up to them

It’s a tough task, sitting back and inviting high levels of pressure every single game. It worked against Spain and Ukraine first tine around, we’re not convinced that Slovakia will find a way to score in this game, which means that we also don’t think they’ll be adding three points to their position in the standings.

      2. Ukraine have improved

They looked like good candidates to be an “also ran” early on in group play, but Ukraine have improved over their last few games and they actually played pretty well against Spain in March. They could have even won that encounter.

      3. Don’t expect a lot of goals

Neither of these sides are going to expose themselves, they are both going to play with a defence-first approach and this is a game that will probably take a chess match tone as opposed to a game where chances are traded.
