Manchester City 5-0

Slovan Bratislava have conceded five in both of their defeats this season to Celtic and MSK Zilina and they may do so again against a Manchester City side that are used to racking up the goals and are unbeaten in their last 11 Champions League away games.

Slovan Bratislava vs Manchester City Predictions

  • Slovan Bratislava have shipped five goals in both of their defeats this season
  • Manchester City’s last five Champions League away games have gone over 3.5 goals
  • The Citizens are unbeaten in 11 Champions League away matches

City can run riot in Bratislava

Manchester City were held to a goalless draw by Inter Milan in their Champions League opener, but they should be able to turn on the style when they visit a Slovan Bratislava side that shipped five at Celtic in their first match of the new league phase.

City may have shared the spoils in three of their last four fixtures, but they are unbeaten in nine across all competitions this season, scoring two or more goals in six of those games.

The Citizens are also unbeaten in their last 11 Champions League away games and the previous five of those have gone over 3.5 goals, with Pep Guardiola’s side putting three on Real Madrid and RB Leipzig during that time, two sides that would expect to provide considerably stronger resistance than Slovan.

Slovan may struggle to contain Guardiola’s side

Slovan came through four qualifying rounds to reach the tournament proper of this season’s Champions League, but they looked out of their depth as they shipped five against Celtic on Matchday One.

That is one of just two defeats Vladimír Weiss’ side have suffered in 19 matches across all competitions this season, but they also conceded five in the other of those losses, going down 5-0 on home soil to MSK Zilina.

Given the gulf in quality between these two sides, another heavy defeat could be on the cards for Slovan, who may end up shipping five goals without reply once again.
