Spain and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Spain have won all three of their Euro 2024 games and should have too much for Georgia, who they beat twice in qualifying by an aggregate score of 10-2. La Roja are yet to concede but Georgia can end that run of clean sheets in defeat as they scored in both qualifying losses and are yet to draw a blank at Euro 2024.

Spain 4-1

Reason for tip

A Spain win with goals at both ends is predicted but ultimately they should run out comfortable winners. Georgia lost 3-1 to an average looking Turkey side in the groups and Spain have overcome both Croatia and Italy with relative ease, so a 4-1 victory for the Spanish appeals.

Lamine Yamal To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal has managed three attempts in two starts so far and should enjoy more success against Georgia’s defence than he did against Italy and Croatia, so back the teenager to open his account.

Big guns Spain face surprise package Georgia

England may be the favourites to win Euro 2024 with the bookmakers, but as far as I’m concerned Spain are the team to beat in Germany based on the group stages.

La Roja breezed through what was supposed to be the ‘group of death’ with three wins in as many games against Croatia, Italy and Albania.

Georgia managed just one point from their first two games against the Czech Republic and Turkey but then stunned Portugal 2-0 in their final game.

Finding value in a Spain win

Spain are the heavy favourites to win this game and that should come as little surprise. Georgia may be coming into the clash after seeing off the Portuguese, but they had already qualified as group winners when the teams met and that game was effectively a dead-rubber from their perspective.

Spain beat Georgia 10-2 on aggregate across two games in qualifying and should have far too much for their opponents here, but I am expecting a consolation strike from the Georgians and a Spain win with both teams to score looks a reasonable option for our main bet.

Georgia scored in both of those defeats during qualifying and they have scored in all three of their games during the tournament.

La Roja are yet to concede, but Georgia will continue to push even if they fall a few goals behind.

Spain held on to 1-0 leads against Italy and Albania but after going three up against Croatia they did concede a few chances, so Georgia may be able to at least score a goal in the knockout stages of their first ever major tournament.

Go for a comfortable Spain win

In theory knockout games are never easy, but there is a clear gulf in class here and after scoring 10 times across two games with Georgia during qualifying I’m expecting a big win for the Spanish.

A 4-1 win for Spain seems a reasonable correct score prediction given their dominant displays so far, and Georgia did ship three against a Turkey outfit who are simply not on the level of Luis de la Fuente’s men.

Spain have scored five goals in the tournament but no player has scored more than twice and another man can add his name to the list of Spanish scorers on Sunday. Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal has managed three attempts in two starts so far and should enjoy more success against Georgia’s defence than he did against Italy and Croatia, so back the teenager to open his account.

From a Georgia perspective, it is hard to look beyond Metz attacker Georges Mikautadze, who is currently the tournament’s top scorer with three goals.
