Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in four of the last five games to feature Spezia, and in seven of Udinese’s last nine contests. With Spezia winless in six league games and Udinese without a victory in five, punters are advised to neglect the result markets.

Udinese 2-1

Reason for tip

Spezia have shipped multiple goals in five of their last six games, and only Verona (26) have conceded more Serie A goals than their 24 this campaign. Udinese, meanwhile, rank fifth in Serie A for goals (21) and shots per game (14) this season, and may be able to end their poor run.

Spezia vs Udinese Predictions

  • Spezia have seen both teams score in four of their last five games in all competitions.
  • Meanwhile, seven of the last nine games to feature Udinese have contained goals at both ends.
  • Punters are advised to neglect the result markets, with Spezia winless in six league matches and Udinese without a victory in five.

Zebrette slump continues

Udinese appeared to have emerged as shock contenders for a European place when they strung together six consecutive Serie A wins earlier this season, but a run of five league games without victory has seen Andrea Sottil’s men slip away from the top six. On Tuesday, Udinese head to struggling Spezia, but their recent shortcomings mean a competitive affair is expected.

The Zebrette have recorded four draws and two defeats in their last six games in all competitions after coming from behind against Lecce on Friday, with a lack of clean sheets proving costly. Seven of Udinese’s last 10 games have contained goals at both ends, though Udinese rank fifth in Serie A for shots taken – averaging 14 per game – and their tally of 21 league goals scored means they will likely trouble any opponent.

Spezia, meanwhile, are enduring their own run of six league games without victory, one which leaves them perilously close to the relegation zone in 17th. Luca Gotti’s team have lost five of those contests, shipping 13 goals in that run, and have seen both teams score in four of their last five matches in all competitions. Following Saturday’s narrow 2-1 defeat at Milan, only Verona (26) have conceded more goals than Spezia (24) in Serie A this season, and a shutout looks unlikely on Tuesday.

Goals at both ends likely

With both teams in poor form and with Spezia having claimed all nine of their Serie A points this season on home soil, there are enough doubts about Udinese to advise punters to back both teams to score in Liguria.

However, Spezia have shipped multiple goals in five of their last six league games, and correct score punters may find it prudent to back the Zebrette to end their poor run with a 2-1 victory.
