Sporting Lisbon vs Estoril Predictions
- Sporting have conceded in their last four home games.
- Estoril have scored in eight consecutive games.
- Sporting have won nine of their 11 home games.
Stuttering Sporting host in-form Estoril
Sporting lead the way in Portugal’s top tier ahead of the latest round of fixtures but they face a test against visitors Estoril on Monday.
The Lisbon giants have drawn their last three games and are now only ahead of Porto on goal difference, while Estoril are one of the division’s form sides with six wins and two draws in their last eight games.
A home win still looks the more likely result but Sporting look far too short, so backing both teams to score looks the best option for our main bet.
Sporting have gone four games without a clean sheet at home and Estoril have scored in eight consecutive games, with both teams scoring in seven of those.
Sporting’s form may have dipped but most of their issues have come on the road. The defending Portuguese champions have won nine of their 11 home league games and lost just once, scoring 26 goals in the process, so they should be able to pick up three points here even if Estoril are in fine form.
Three of Sporting’s last five home wins have been by one-goal margins and a 2-1 win for the hosts seems a reasonable correct score prediction.
Viktor Gyokeres has missed a few games due to injury recently but if he is involved he is clearly Sporting’s most likely scorer, having hit 23 goals in just 22 league games this season.
