Sporting Kansas City vs Toronto FC Predictions
Sporting Kansas City have started their season in very good stead and will already be hopeful of improving on their 6th place finish in last season’s MLS Western Conference. They opened the season with a 1-0 win away at Seattle Sounders and followed it up with a 2-1 win against Whitecaps thanks to two first half goals from Dom Dwyer.
But this could well be a bigger challenge for them. Toronto FC also kicked their season off with a win away against Supporters Shield holders New York Red Bulls and then came from two goals behind to earn a point at New York City last Sunday.
This will be Toronto FC’s 3rd consecutive away match, and they have already proved that they can do the business on the road with these two admirable results.
Their win at Red Bulls also ended their nine match winless streak on the road, so now that that psychological barrier has been broken down we could well see more of the same. Sebastian Giovinco got on the scoresheet last week as well, and the last thing any team wants to come up against is an in form Giovinco after his exploits last season.
I think Toronto FC can give the hosts a good run for their money on Sunday. Sporting Kansas City haven’t kept a clean sheet at home in any of their last 12 matches, with both teams getting on the scoresheet in ten of these games. Toronto FC have only failed to score in two of their last nine outings as well, and all of the last five meetings between these sides has seen both sides get on the scoresheet.
This makes odds of 7/10 for Both Teams to Score look very good value. I’m also backing Toronto FC to get something from this with a 2-2 correct score prediction at 12/1.
