Sporting Lisbon To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Sporting are leading the way in the Primeria Liga and it is hard to see a Moreirense side with eight losses in their last 11 away games causing the champions too many problems in Lisbon. Four of the last five head-to-heads have seen Sporting win to nil and Friday’s clash could follow suit.

Sporting Lisbon 2-0

Reason for tip

Sporting’s 75 goals may make them the league’s highest scorers but Moreirense have conceded more than twice in a game in just one of their last 15 outings, making a 2-0 home win the most appealing correct-score bet on Friday.

Sporting Lisbon vs Moreirense Predictions

  • Sporting are unbeaten in 11 games, winning seven of their last eight outings
  • Moreirense have lost eight of their last 11 away matches
  • Sporting have won four of the last five head-to-heads without conceding

Sporting set for another victory

After a shaky transition period following the departure of manager Ruben Amorim to Manchester United, Sporting have got their title defence back on track under Rui Borges.

Amorim’s successor, Joao Pereira, managed just three wins in eight matches at the helm but his replacement has fared much better, with Borges losing just two of his 22 games in charge.

Their upturn in form under Borges has seen Sporting move back to the Primeira Liga summit and it is hard to see them giving up top spot this weekend, with a comfortable victory expected against mid-table Morirense.

Moreirense may have little to cheer in Lisbon

Sporting have been exceptional of late, winning eight matches in an 11-game unbeaten run, and it should be smooth sailing on Friday, with travel-sick Morirense unlikely to pull up any trees in Lisbon.

The visitors have lost eight of their last 11 away games and given they have netted just eight goals in that run, it is difficult to see them troubling the champions too much.

Moreirense did land a shock 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture, but that defeat for Sporting came under Pereira’s unconvincing stewardship and they can land a fifth win to nil in six head-to-heads on Friday.
