      Birmingham to Win

      Reason for tip

Birmingham proved they are not quite on the beach just yet when beating Burton 2-1 on Easter Monday and a run of just one loss in 17 away games suggests they should have far too much for Stevenage, who have accumulated just 15 points from their last 15 league games.

      Birmingham 2-1

      Reason for tip

Interestingly, Birmingham have won their last three away matches by a 2-1 scoreline. They also secured victory in the reverse fixture in the same manner and it could pay to stick with that scoreline at the Lamex.

      Stevenage vs Birmingham Predictions

      • Stevenage have taken just 15 points from their last 15 League One matches
      • Birmingham have lost just one of their last 17 away games
      • Both teams scored in Birmingham’s last five away games and each of Stevenage’s last four at home

Back Blues to stay on track for record

After drawing 0-0 with relegation-threatened Crawley in their first league game after being crowned League One champions, it seemed nailed-on that Birmingham were firmly on the beach already.

Nobody could blame the Blues if that was the case, but Chris Davies’ side proved it is simply not in their nature to let up when beating Burton 2-1 on Easter Monday and they may not be done winning games just yet.

That victory over the Brewers saw them move to within one point of breaking the 100-point barrier and just four off Wolves’ record tally of 103. Given the Blues’ heavy investment in the summer, they will be keen to break that record and should keep it alive at Stevenage.

Boro bound to struggle against champions

Nobody can doubt Birmingham’s status as the best team in the league and their deep and extremely talented squad, as well as the fact they have lost just one of their last 17 away matches, makes them worthy favourites at the Lamex Stadium.

A strong start to the season means Stevenage have never been in any real danger of relegation this term, even though their form has dipped noticeably in recent weeks.

Replacing a figure as dominant as Steve Evans is never easy and Alex Revell deserves plenty of credit for his efforts in the dugout this term, but 15 points from their last 15 matches is not the kind of form which suggests the Boro can take anything from their clash with the champions.
