Stevenage can take advantage of fixture turn

Stevenage have had some tough games lately, taking on Stockport County, Reading and Birmingham City – three of the top seven – but this looks like an easier assignment at home to Crawley. Alex Revell’s side managed just one point from those recent matches, but they should be backed to beat Scott Lindsey’s team.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, with Stevenage 13th and Crawley 22nd. The hosts are nine places and 13 points above the visitors, but Stevenage have won just three more games, with 13 wins and 16 defeats. Crawley have nine wins and 22 losses.

Crawley have been disappointing defensively away from home this season, conceding 44 goals in 20 road games – an average of 2.20 goals per game.

The visitors are out of form. Crawley have sustained six reverses in their last eight League One away games.

A narrow 1-0 win for Stevenage looks the most likely outcome. Seven of their 13 league victories this season have come by that scoreline.
