      Stockport to Win

      Reason for tip

Stockport have been outstanding at home, with 15 wins from 22 games, and they come into this clash with momentum after four straight home victories. With Lincoln struggling to keep clean sheets and Stockport scoring freely, backing the hosts to win looks the best option.

      Stockport 2-1

      Reason for tip

Lincoln have lost 11 times this season by a one-goal margin and Stockport have scored at least twice in five of their last eight. A 2-1 home win fits both teams’ recent trends and could be the value correct-score play.

      Stockport vs Lincoln City Predictions

Stockport to extend strong home record

Stockport have been strong at home this season, and they should be backed to get a victory over Lincoln on Saturday. Dave Challinor’s side have triumphed in 15 of their 22 home games in League One, while Lincoln have won six times on the road.

Stockport are fifth in League One and certain of a play-off spot, six places and 20 points above Lincoln, with 23 wins from their 44 games this season.

Stockport beat Huddersfield 2-1 on Monday to justify their price of 4/5 and keep up their recent winning trend. However, they conceded the opening goal for the third game running and have won just three of the 16 games this season in which they’ve shipped first (19%).

Stockport are hitting their stride at home. They have won eight of their last nine League One games at their ground and come into this match on the back of four consecutive victories.

It would be no surprise to see Stockport score, as they have found the net in seven of their last eight league games, scoring at least twice in five of those matches.

The visitors have looked vulnerable in defence. Lincoln have failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last six League One games.

There have been over 2.5 goals in four of Stockport’s last six League One matches and, while they may be able to edge out Lincoln in a close game, a 2-1 home win is the correct-score pick. Eleven of Lincoln’s 15 League One reverses this season have been by a single goal.
