Sunderland can see off Cardiff

Sunderland should be backed to get a home win over Cardiff on Saturday.

Sunderland are fourth in the Championship, 29 points above Cardiff, who are 21st. The hosts have 18 wins, 11 draws and six defeats, while the visitors have won eight, drawn 12 and lost 15 of their 35 games this season.

Sunderland have kept out Cardiff in three of their last four Championship clashes, and the visitors have failed to keep a clean sheet in 19 of their last 21 league games, so the hosts should be backed to get their noses in front and land a comfortable win.

Cardiff’s recent form has been poor, with one win, two draws and three defeats in their last six games. The win came against Hull and the run includes a demoralising 7-0 defeat by Leeds.

Sunderland have won the last two Championship head-to-heads with Cardiff 2-0 and the hosts look set to get another two-goal win.
