Swansea vs Arsenal Predictions
Garry Monk was a surprise contender for the next Premier League boss to get the boot last weekend, and his odds significantly shortened as his side went 1-0 down to Aston Villa.
But the Welsh contingent staged a comeback and eventually came away with the three points they so desperately needed.
They had previously been six games without a win, with four of those ending in straight up defeat for the previously in form Swansea.
Their early season good form has seen them maintain a respectable position in the league though, with their 13 point tally leaving them in 12th position in the Premier League.
Arsenal are in a much better position than their opponents coming into this match. They are in 2nd position and level on points with leaders Manchester City. Below them, West Ham and Manchester United both breathe down their necks just two points adrift of them.
This comes after they have put together a four match winning streak in the league, although their shocking 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday could have dealt a bit of a blow to their confidence.
To add to their midweek misery, both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott suffered injuries in that match. They are expected to be out until after the international break, joining Mikel Arteta, David Ospina, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Aaron Ramsey, and Danny Welbeck on the sidelines.
Swansea’s only doubt is Wayne Routledge as their excellent backroom staff continue to keep the vast majority of their squad fit.
Despite their injury concerns, I still expect Arsenal to get the win on Saturday. They are in much better form than the home side and you can never rule them out when Alexis Sanchez is on form. This makes odds of 8/11 for an Arsenal Win look appealing, and I’m also backing a 2-0 correct score prediction at 17/2.
