Hosts to inflict more pain on struggling Empoli

Torino look the best bet when they host Empoli on Saturday. The visitors are out of form and Paolo Vanoli’s Torino side should be backed to get the win.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, but Torino are seven places above Empoli in the table. The hosts sit 11th with eight wins and nine defeats, while the visitors are 18th with four wins and 14 losses.

Empoli’s 1-0 defeat to Roma last weekend was their seventh loss in nine Serie A games and they didn’t create many chances. Empoli were priced at 14/5 to win the game and look set to struggle as outsiders again.

Torino have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 12 goals in 13 Serie A games – an average of 0.92 goals per game.

Empoli have sustained four defeats in their last six away games and Torino have beaten them by a single goal in two of the last three meetings. A 2-1 win for the hosts is the correct-score pick, with both teams having scored in seven of Torino’s last nine matches.
