Toronto FC vs FC Dallas Predictions
It’s been a long wait for the Toronto FC fans for their team to make a home appearance this season, but the time is finally upon them. All of their opening eight matches have been on the road, but they can now look forward to four consecutive gameweeks of home matches.
To be fair to Toronto, they have performed very well considering their constant away status. Their loss against Portland Timbers last weekend made it three wins, three defeats, and two draws from their first eight games, and they will be hoping to better that points average now that home games are being thrown into the mix.
This 11 point return has left them in 3rd position in the MLS Eastern Conference, just two points behind Philadelphia Union and three points off Montreal Impact. They have a game in hand on the top of the table club as well, so they will feel that they’re in with an excellent chance of challenging for that 1st place finish and potentially the Supporters Shield.
FC Dallas are another team looking towards the Supporters Shield, and they find themselves 3rd in the MLS Western Conferene with 17 points from their opening ten matches. They are level on points with Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake above them, but both of those teams and the two below them have at least one game in hand on Dallas.
The visitors have been both very impressive and frustratingly dismal so far this season. They have pulled off five victories and two draws so far, but their three defeats have shown a completely different side to them. All three of these defeats have come away from home, starting with a 5-0 thrashing from Houston Dynamo and progressing to their most recent two fixtures which saw them lose 3-0 to Whitecaps and 4-0 to New York Red Bulls.
This leaves their away record at three defeats and two draws this season, and extending back into last season they have lost seven of their last 11 trips away and conceded 24 goals.
Toronto FC have performed admirably so far, but we’re expecting even more from them at home. Odds of 11/10 for a Toronto FC win in this one look good to me, and I’m backing another heavy defeat for FC Dallas with a 3-0 correct score prediction at huge odds of 18/1.
