Tottenham Hotspur and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Glimt have been the surprise package in the Europa League but their fairy-tale run may be ended by Tottenham. Spurs are unbeaten at home in this competition (W4, D2) and Glimt have lost all three of their away games since the knockout stages began. A home win is expected but the visitors can keep the tie alive by getting on the scoresheet, as they have scored in normal time in 12 of their 14 Europa League games and Tottenham have managed just one clean sheet in their last 13 games across all comps.

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1

Reason for tip

Tottenham have enough quality to win with a bit of room to spare, but Glimt can keep things respectable as they haven’t conceded more than three goals in any game in Europe this season. No team has beaten the visitors by more than two goals in Europe and, with both teams expected to score, a 3-1 win for the hosts appeals here.

Dominic Solanke To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Dominic Solanke scored in the defeat to Liverpool at the weekend and now has two goals in his last three games, while he has generally been productive in the Europa League with three goals and four assists in 10 appearances. Solanke looks a decent candidate to get on the scoresheet here.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Bodo Glimt Predictions

  • Spurs are unbeaten at home in the Europa League (W4, D2).
  • Bodo/Glimt have lost their last three trips in this competition.
  • Glimt have scored in 12 of their 14 Europa League games.

Spurs looking to salvage season

Tottenham have endured a miserable season in the Premier League but Europa League glory is a very real possibility.

Spurs face surprise package Bodo/Glimt in the last four and are clear favourites to reach the final. Although even winning the trophy may not be enough to keep Ange Postecoglou in the job.

Glimt, the first Norwegian team to reach the semi-final of a European competition, stunned Lazio in the previous round but Spurs’ greater quality should see them avoid an upset – even if the north Londoners are in dreadful form.

Back Spurs to win and concede

Tottenham are the heavy favourites to win the game so the best approach here could be backing a home win with goals at both ends.

Spurs have saved their best performances for this competition, initially that may have been by chance but since the league phase ended they have clearly been prioritising Europe. They managed to see off a very good Eintracht Frankfurt outfit in the last round, which suggests they can cope with Glimt and make home advantage count on Thursday.

Glimt have lost all three of their away games since the knockout stages began and Spurs are unbeaten at home in the Europa League this season, so a home win looks the most likely result but Glimt can at least give themselves a glimmer of hope going into the return leg in Norway by getting on the scoresheet.

The Norwegian champions have scored in 12 of their 14 Europa League games and Spurs have just one clean sheet in their last 13 overall, so goals at both ends looks likely.

Solanke a contender for a goal

Spurs may well be without Son Heung-min for a fourth straight game on Thursday due to a foot injury so Dominic Solanke stands out as a candidate for an anytime effort.

Solanke scored in the defeat to Liverpool at the weekend and now has two goals in his last three games, and he has been productive in the Europa League with three goals and four assists in 10 appearances.

A 3-1 win for Tottenham is the correct score prediction as Tottenham have enough quality to win with a bit of room to spare, but Glimt can keep things respectable as they haven’t conceded more than three goals in any game in Europe this season and no team has beaten them by more than two goals.
